This photo shows the end of a log, dry-rot etched by repeated flooding. It was found along the shoreline of Jordan Lake in North Carolina. It leaves me with the impression that I’m looking at a moonscape. Agree?

Looking up from my spot next to the log, my lens found the pollen coated water of Jordan Lake, and the long yellow spirographs of the dust on its surface.
